Recollection - Works

  • By Bec Martin

The ceramic heart is a poignant exploration of the emotional journey that accompanies infertility and the intense experience of failed IVF treatments. The heart is rich in texture, with deep, jagged cracks that run through the surface in a chaotic and unpredictable pattern, reflecting the intense turmoil and devastation of these experiences. The cracked texture is further accentuated by the subtle shading and subtle colouring, which amplify the depth and layers of the piece. The heart is delicate but larger than usual, with a subtle sheen that speaks to the fragility and vulnerability inherent in the human experience. As a symbol of love, hope, and intense desire, this ceramic heart tells a story of loss and pain, but also of resilience, strength, and the power of the human spirit to overcome even the most difficult challenges.

  • Our Beaudesert Ute - Dedicated to Fabio, by Charmaine Kent

This is a model representing our EH Holden Ute we had many adventures in & cherished memories from this time in our lives. When I thought hard about what my memory vessel would be I kept thinking back to all our vehicles we have had & of course the years we had them & how so many changes in our lives corresponded with our many different vehicles. This time in our life was 26years ago when we just had our son Jay but pregnant with our daughter Sophie. Our beloved dog Johnson would ride in the back & one day he jumped out while we were driving & didn’t see him again for 1 month. It turned out the farmer up the road found him & renamed him Top Notch! He returned him after seeing a lost poster. We eventually sold this one but have another out front . A vessel for our Sunday drives.
